A little about laughter yoga

A few pointers about laughter Yoga:
• you are laughing for no reason, without any humor or jokes – it’s laughter as an exercise
• there are many health reasons why you should try this – let go and trust that this will work and have a look at some of my other posts about the benefits
• anyone can take part and there is no need for special clothing or equipment – yes that means you CAN do it too
• you are most probably going to feel awkward and strange and you are in the same boat as your friends so let go and embrace it – hey at least you are together in this
• laughter is contagious so be warned you may catch it
• you don’t laugh because you are happy, you are happy because you laugh.
• Happiness is a choice – yay make it now and have some fun

10 ways to laugh in the New Year

1st Laugh of New Year
Warm up: As many of you will be first timers let’s do a warm up.
Repeat after me:

Ha ha
Ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ….. you get the point – then try with ho ho then he he

Yay!! Great start now enjoy these positive laughs – remember you can fake it till you make it. If you can’t laugh just go ha ha ha – he he he – ho ho ho until it turns into real laughter

2nd We are going to start with the Laughter Yoga chant. Clap your hands
1 – 2 ( so clap twice), 1 – 2 -3 ( then clap 3 times) saying Ho Ho, Ha Ha Ha and keep repeating this. Don’t forget to smile while you are doing this.

3rd Greeting Laugh – Shake hands laughing and don’t let go for a bit while looking into each others eyes, then hug each other while you laugh and repeat changing hands then move onto the next person.

4rd Mobile Phone Laughter – Pretend your best friend has called you to wish you and told you of all the funny times you had together and laugh – keep laughing for about a minute.

5th Driving Laughter – traffic is a common irritation at the best of times – lets change this. Choose a sign that appears regularly and every time you see it start saying Ho ho ho ha ha ha he he he and laugh.

6th Make a list of all your New Years resolutions and say them 10 times in the mirror whilst laughing. This breaks down the critical filter, which will file your intent in the correct place without judgment yay!! Remember to write them in the present tense as if you already have it. “I am fit and healthy and my perfect body weight”

7th How many times have you not kept to your NY Resolution and then felt guilty. Hey, that’s ok we are only human – don’t take yourself so seriously. Every time you mess up just laugh at it and start again.

8th Let’s rather set daily goals in the morning and laugh as we affirm what we will do positively today YAY!!

9th Appreciation Laughter – every time you do something good or that you set out to do reward yourself with a self hug and laugh.

10th Laughter Shower – Every morning when you get in the shower laugh at your body lovingly accepting it and thanking it. This is a great way to energize you for the day ahead.

11th Love yourself laughter – look in the mirror and say “ ( I love and accept myself completely” while laughing lovingly.

12th Being Grateful is one of the best ways to be happy. Write a list of everything you are grateful for and then read it out aloud laughing and raising your hands to the sky in a victory position and say YAY!!.

I hope you had as much fun as I did with this. Happy New Year YAY!!
