Emma Willmer is a current student on the MAPP course at Buckinghamshire New University. She has a varied working background and has experience of working in health, retail, HR & recruitment, and higher education environments. Her interest in psychology developed from studying a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree as a mature student after deciding to make a career change in 2011. She currently combines her studies with working in post graduate executive degree admissions for Oxford University’s Business School.

Emma lives in Oxfordshire and has two teenage daughters. She has previously volunteered as a school governor for local schools as well as the Samaritans, she plans to return to volunteering once completing her MAPP studies.

Emma’s main interests in positive psychology are related to hope, resilience and the journey of change which has grown from her time working in the health sector.
