Loved the post! The discussion on Elizabeth’s values left me thinking. There’s a point at the end where it suggests her mind changes after seeing Pemberley, Darcy’s stunning estate: “Is this still true to her values?” I don’t think Elizabeth’s feelings shifted because of Darcy’s wealth. Rather, it was the moment she saw his sculpture, she realized she missed him and that he truly mattered to her.

I admire the resilience of the women in a world not built for them, in which they must just comply or face poverty – I think some of that still sounds familiar in terms of class/power and gender! I loved your analysis of Pride & Prejudice through the prism of Positive Psychology. So many of the values found in the novel still resonate with us today. Elizabeth’s strengths of compassion and resilience continue to give us hope in difficult times, times that still contain greed & snobbery unfortunately. Looking forward to the next book- thank you!
