Yes, positive psychology is preventative mental health, and I wish everyone would learn or be taught some of the field's basic research and strategies. What you've described is what I felt while volunteering for a crisis/suicide hotline (this is too late to address the problem) and, recently, when I considered a First Aid role at work, listening and offering support/resources to employees struggling mentally/emotionally during COVID. Would rather address root causes of well-being instead of dealing with consequences. Many understand and value preventative physical health, so why not mental health?

Hi Janette

This was a really interesting post, Should be some comments.

Anyways thanks you for posting, I think we are in a time now where the demands of everyday life is causing high levels of stress, and worry, and my father always used to say the same thing prevention is better than cure which I feel we need to go back to in all areas of life.

Contributing to something bigger than us is vital. I come to realise we all need to come to a point in life where we need to decide a meaning or purpose to our lives, otherwise all we do becomes pointless, and we look back and can have a mental breakdown.

Thanks again, we be good to see more posts on mental health and well-being.
