Clarity is … not
Not competition. Not shadows. Not another wall.
It’s not obvious… until it is. Clarity is always the goal. To be clear who we are, why we are here, what is our purpose, how we choose to live is freedom. It’s not what others tell us to be. To be clear about one’s own path is not to be the invention of someone else’s story. To be clear on what we want out of life, we must not follow what others tell us to be.
To be clear, we must rely on education, but not tether ourselves to the principles or values of others just because we’re told to. In education, we try to bring people to a place of knowing, far beyond memorization. Only when we can critically realize a concept, without strong emotion, but instead with curiosity and constructive critique, are we heading toward clarity of ideas.
We are not the summation of our parts. We’re much more organic than that. We are not linear beings. We are holistic creations of the orchestra only we can hear being played just for us. It is the wonder of the world to be where we are, when we are.
When we clearly see the world around us for the potential of knowing there’s more out there to fuse us to our place in history, we free ourselves from the chains that bind us to patterns.
To be clear that we too, matter is to give flight to our voices in the winds of change.
When we are clear as the air around us, we are in the moment of understanding that we are not someone else’s story.
When we are clear that our thoughts are our own, we give rise to the possibility that we can change them at will.
When we are clear that because someone else is ahead of us, or more successful than us, doesn’t mean that we silence our own ideas. We are all originals. Humans share commonalities, but we are all enough different in station and in life that no two of us are exactly the same. That means, we have the opportunity to grow, to know and to be.
Most importantly, for me, for now, is to know that being in a place of clarity means that though the seasons have changed, the world is simply different, not… closed. Entering a new era in our lives creates for us, a clearing of places, times, events, old stories, best left on the shelf as we create new one’s in their stead.
Clarity is not the end of our story….. it is in fact, a new beginning.
